Launch filename.ext will bring up the item in the default view that is
associated with that extension.

thank you very much for the info... but it doesn't resolve my problem.

 

I understand how I can use a blob to add a image to a database row.

 

However, my problem is that I have to be able to make annotations to the
image and then save it in the BLOB.

 

As far as I can see, the Rbeditor doesn't allow to add text/drawings to an
image and then save it.

 

Or am I missing something ?

In RBase help 9.0 enter 'jpg'   also Razzak has a PDF out on the same that I
will send to you directly.

Hi, 

 

I want to put an editable image on a form.

 

In Access I could put an OLE embedded bound image field, based on a
particular image.

On double-click the image opens in e.g. Photodraw/paint, I can edit the
image, make annotations and then save it as the OLE embedded image in the
database, without altering the original image.

 

How do I do this in R:base ?

 

Do I use a varbit BLOB ? But the editor doesn't allow annotations......
