Karen,

I do not play with work stations in these cases.

If you are dealing with a P4 or higher type processor with a gig or higher ram
just wipe the work station and start over.

This may depend on the number of programs on the work station, but my rule of
thumb is that if I can wipe the station and be back up in two to three hours
the is not better alternative.

Anyway this is my take on the issue.

Karen,

Remember to check the systems fragmentation, (I like Auslogics (
http://www.auslogics.com/en/ ), great little defrag program). In "My Computer"
properties, Advanced, Performance, select "Adjust for best performance".
Also, get rid of the unnecessary background running programs by selecting
Msconfig from the RUN option off of the System "Start".

I tend to run the defrag program often as it will help to keep the system
running as fast as it is designed to.
