I also wonder about how you could read something that small, but another answer might be to use 2 versions of the image. Make a very small jpg, low res and use it as a preview image, and click on it to open the full pdf. For our use I prefer to use the launch method, since it seems to be faster and work better (unless the pdf viewer has changed),

How could you even read anything on a display as small as you would need? _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Thursday, December 23, 2010 8:26 AM To: RBASE-L Mailing List Subject: [RBASE-L] - Re: PDF files as data? Larry and others: All have suggested methods for display one PDF file based on clicking on a region's row, which I do know how to do and suggested to the client originally. However, he wants to see all the PDFs in one screen so his people can glance at multiple rows and compare the pictures. I was 99% certain this could not be done, just wanted verification. Related questions: (1) Can PDF files be loaded into a Varbit field and displayed that way? I tried the usual and it doesn't load, no error just doesn't load: insert into imagefile (longvarbitcol) values ['invoice.pdf'] (2) Is there a way to convert a directory full of PDF files into JPG files? Karen I doubt you can add a PDF viewer to a scrolling region. Anyway, it would be awfully tiny.
