Looks like this would be a great candidate for an enhancement request so that
(CHKCUR('cursorname')), (CHKFILE('filespec')), (CHKVAR('varname')) and other
such functions
accept a .variable name in addition to hard coding

CHKVAR will only take a quoted string, not a dotted variable, so I had to write
the code this way.

it says Unrecognized command in entry/exit procedure.
the same code works in a goto loop, but that is too slow.
