Tom,

I had a similar problem with a networked printer which was solved by
un-checking the
bi-directional printing option in printer properties on the machine involved.
Whether this can
happen on a USB connected printer, I don't know, but maybe its worth a try. I
found the
solution by Googling the printer Model and something like "won't stop printing".

Tom...Do the printers perform a self-test.  Hold down the paper feed
button at power up.  It should print out a test strip showing the
printer settings.  How are you trying to connect to the computer? USB,
CAT 5, Serial?  Let me know and I will consult a service manual and
suggest the correct settings.  The settings are controlled by 2 switch
blocks on the underside of the printer located below the small metal
access plate.
