Dear R:BASE Community,

R:BASE X is now providing the most productive development environment in the history of R:BASE!

One of the more well-received features in R:BASE X for Windows is the new "Code" and "History" tabs within the Form/Report/Label Designers, to easily review the command syntax for defined
Custom EEPs, table-level EEPs, and Custom Actions.

Think of it as having instant access to any defined EEP code!

With an object selected, switching to the Code tab automatically displays the EEPs for the control. Intentionally read-only, the EEP code can be launched in the R:BASE Editor by double clicking in the code. Applications with many lines of EEP syntax will also benefit from the
supported search capabilities.

Drop-down menus within the code tab allow developers a first-hand perspective on where and in what controls EEP code resides. New EEPs can also be added to form objects without the need to switch to the Design tab (standard Form Designer display). Switching between the Design and
Code tab can be quickly performed using the [F7] hot key.

The Code tab also provides custom settings for the initial location of the cursor when the R:BASE Editor is launched and advanced object descriptions in the drop-down menu.

The History tab is a built-in backup feature to save EEP command syntax when changes are made. A revision and date/time is generated to help track changes as well. The backups are stored in a "__history" sub folder beneath the current database folder. If you prefer your own method, an option is available within the Form Settings to disable the EEP History feature.
