        You can have it pretty or fast.  But it will not be pretty and
fast (on your dot matrix).

        In DOS you probably selected a font that was standard for your
dot matrix printer.
There is probably a mono-spaced font like Courier that would still work.

        If you want a pretty windows font, it will print the page as if
it were graphics rather
than printing standard text characters.

        I think that is why it is slower.  I have the same results when
I print to my Canon
BJ330 dot-matrix printer.  When I print to a Canon inkjet, or a HP
Laser, the output
is fast regardless.  But printing special fonts to a dot matrix printer
is much slower.
