Emmit:
Citrix Metaframe is a Terminal Server add-on that provides quite a few
features that are missing from Terminal Server.
However, since it is a third party add-on it comes at additional cost,
whereas Terminal Server comes with W2K Server and the client license comes
with W2K Pro.
I understand that Metaframe is a great solution if you need the additional
features (faster protocol, better graphics, some sound support, support for
non-MS client platforms, etc.)

Metaframe 1.8 is now capable of supporting high-color sessions. We've set
up with W2k TS running Metaframe 1.8 and Neoware Neostation 3000cx thin
clients running WinCE to obtain high color. Generic W2k TS is still
limited, as you note.
