Thanks to all who have offered advice. I have passed comment along to
my client and am waiting for the test results tomorrow.
Just a note of clarification: Runtime in on each local
computer with the application and database on the server.
When they move the database and application directory to
the local computer it works fine.

There seems to be no rhyme nor reason for when it is slow.
About 3 weeks ago she first reported the problem and then
tried reinstalling Runtime and the problem seemed to get
better. But now it has slowly come back and reinstalling
Runtime did not help. Probably just a fluke that it even
helped the first time. The problem now seems to be chronic
with no let up.

Yes it is always the same 4 that are the problem.

Don't know if all work stations are the same version but at least one of
the
problem workstations is Win98SE.

I don't think so but I will check.

Good idea, I will have them try swapping computers.
Three weeks ago they were going to be ordering a new NIC brand
so I am pretty sure they are new. I will ask them about the wiring.

Yes, of course everything else is fine, so it must be R:Base but I
really don't
think it is. Because if it was just R:Base, why are the two computers
working fine?
We just have to find the right button.
Thanks Again,
