The ODBC Administrator is installed on all version of Windows after version
3.1. You will find it on the Control Panel with various names such as ODBC
Administrator, ODBC Data Sources, ODBC32 Data Sources and so on.

You will also need the SQL Server ODBC driver. Since ODBC is SQL Server's
native access method, and you seem to be in a SQL Server shop, this driver
is almost certainly installed on your machine.

Note that R:Base is currently limited to accessing tables that do not
contain columns with names of more than 18 characters. RBTI has announced
that this will be relaxed in the in-line patch that is currently in beta
testing -- you will need to upgrade to ++ in order to access that feature.

Finally, you don't mention whether you are using RBWin or RBDos. You can
only use ODBC from RBWin since ODBC is a windows platform API.
