I have been developing with all versions of RBase on an ME machine
with absolutely no problems. Multiple windows open with both DOS and Win
simultaneously talking to the same db. I once had six DOS windows open on
the machine at once and had nothing untoward happen.
Check your path. I seem to recall having a similar problem very
early on and it turned out to be a bad path. Does EDIT ALL FROM tablename
work? Other than that, be sure you have all the M$ updates installed.
