Fred,

Option 01: (Default)

SET VAR vTemp = (ENVVAL('TEMP'))
IF vTemp IS NOT NULL THEN
   SET SCRATCH .vTemp
ENDIF
CONNECT DBname

If the environment variable TEMP points to a local disk,
you will have a great improvement in your application speed
as ALL temporary data will reside on the local drive. This
works great where new computers with huge drives are the norm.

Option 02: (Customized)

If you know the scratch directory for your stuff, then:

SET SCRATCH C:\DirName
CONNECT DBName

Have Fun!

Very Best Regards,

Razzak.
