Hello everyone,

Just a - hopefully - quick question on "insert mode":

At the R:> prompt by pressing the [Ins] key I can see the cursor change from
a small "blob" to a larger "blob" and the smaller blob overwrites as I
type - as it should do.

However, in all my forms I cannot get into an overwrite mode. The cursor is
always a narrow line. I can select all the text or digits and then type
replacing everything or I can insert at any point.

Setting INSERT ON or OFF seems to make absolutely no difference at any point
in R:Base.

Am I missing something obvious or is this just something I have to get used
to in the Windows version? I really want (need) to be able to overtype in
forms.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Regards, Alastair.
