Has anyone else had trouble with a file not returning to the calling procedure using
ZIP RETURN ?
We have a small command file that restarts sessions when the user's system in Windows
2000, that looks like the file below. This has worked fine under 6.1A DOS, but all of
a sudden, under 6.5++ 1.851xRT03, drops the users back to the R> prompt. The purpose
of the file is to free up the memory that W2K does not deallocate in DOS sessions,
preventing the black screen of death.
I've tried using an empty batch file with no luck.
"ZIP RETURN &vComSpec /C startapp.bat
and with the word "EXIT" in the batch file
FILES are set to 25 - and if I put GOTO STOP at the top of the
file, it returns to the menu just fine.
I'm so confused....
---------------------------------------------------------------
-- STARTAPP.CMD
--GOTO STOP
WRITE "Please wait - RE-STARTING DATABASE SESSION" at 1,1 YELLOW ON GREEN
SET VAR VCOMSPEC TEXT = (ENVVAL("COMSPEC"))
IF VCOMSPEC LIKE "*WINNT*" THEN
ZIP RETURN &VCOMSPEC /C EXIT
ENDIF
write "RE-START - OK " at 1,1 YELLOW ON GREEN
CLS
SET WALKMENU ON
SET FEEDBACK ON
LABEL STOP
RETURN
