I don't understand why backups shouldn't be
diligent!!
It's not a major thing to do.
Tape backup drives are inexpensive and can back up
the entire server including all databases, word documents, etc.
AND it's automatic!!!
I insist all my clients have at least 7 tapes
-- One for each day of week M-F, 1 for end of month, 1
in case a tape goes bad.
I show them how to check to make sure that they did
get a backup and have them check it each morning. I also see them or call
them every so often and ask if they checked their back up.
I will admit that sometimes they forget to change
the tape but they should do that right after they check the back
up.
In addition to the tape backup, I also schedule an
automatic backup of just the R:Base databases onto one of the workstations hard
drive. This way I can play with it without interrupting their
work.
So be diligent, insist they do this, and keep tabs
on them!!!
