The record gets updated when you either leave the row or save the record. Since the date columns is the last column in the table, when you press ENTER, it saves the row and goes to the next row, if you have only one row, it will update (save) an and stay in the same row, this is probably why you see the year updated. To have a date update right after you enter it, you may try an EEP on exit from the field that saves the row and redisplays the row: SAVEROW RECALC TABLES
Another trick that I use is to have an EEP on exit from the field with the following commands: NEXTROW PREVROW It updates the display and gets you back to the same row. I like having the date change to YYYY when I only enter 05/05/02. The form that changes the date to 2002 has 2 tables. The header table has Custnum and a date col in it. This is the col that gets changed to 2002 as soon as you leave the col. The other forms that do not change the date are 1 table forms that have a custnum col and date col. If I add a 2nd table to one of these forms and add some of the cols for the second table. The date changes on the first table as soon as you leave that field even if you haven't gotten to the second tab yet. It in not a big deal, I just like the date changing to 2002. thanks marc --- Bill Downall <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I think marc is talking about something other than > the date format > issue.
