I would do this with Tango, build the screen and use a Meta tag to refresh it every few seconds.
In R:base I think you will need to hard code the form writing the data to the screen, putting it in a loop to keep checking the data every few seconds, and writing it to the screen as it changes. I don't think you will be able to use an R:base form to automatically refresh the information on the screen w/o any intervention.
