Probably a dumb question, but wouldn't it be easier to combine ASCII or
CSV files both for output and input??? ~Claudine :)

I have up to 11 different users on the database at one time. One of
them
needs to run 6 different reports and combine them into an Excel file
with 6
different spreadsheets. They then e-mail this file to numerous users
who
don't have access to R:base. If they use GATEWAY to export the reports,
then only one user can be logged on at a time. Since all the users are
not
in the same building, they have to call everyone and make sure that
everyone
is out before they can run the GATEWAY command. This is a BIG hassle to
put
up with every morning. We already do it once a week for importing data.

Why are you trying to send a report to Excel? Would a word processor be
more
adequate? If you just want to use the data, then you probably need to
use
GATEWAY and export you data in excel format.

Subject: Selmargin

I am trying to print a report to an Excel file. I have tried to reset
the
left margin to 1 without any luck. I tried SET SELMARGIN 1
and it didn't do anything.

OUTPUT NORTHFIN.XLS
SET SELMARGIN 1
PRINT EMNOR WHERE fldate >= .sdate AND fldate <= .edate +
ORDER BY fldate, zstart, zstop, flline

OUTPUT NORTHFIN.SCH
SET SELMARGIN 1
PRINT EMNOR WHERE fldate >= .sdate AND fldate <= .edate +
ORDER BY fldate, zstart, zstop, flline

What am I doing wrong?
