In R:Base 7.0 beta 21, I did the following, with output to an ASCII file and
it worked correctly

OUTPUT TT
SET SELMARGIN 0 *(the default)
SEL * FROM APCODES
SET SELMARGIN 1
SEL * FROM APCODES
OUTPUT SCREEN

The result:

 AP APDesc
 -------- --------------------
 A Early AM Run
 K Kindergarten AM Run
 M Midday Run
 P PM Regular Run
 L Late PM Run
 C Kindergarten PM Run
AP APDesc
-------- --------------------
A Early AM Run
K Kindergarten AM Run
M Midday Run
P PM Regular Run
L Late PM Run
C Kindergarten PM Run

WIth Selmargin1, the indent is removed
