I had this problem (copying data from the same table in two different
databases) the other day and was amazed how easy it was to accomplish
using
SCONNECT. There are probably directions posted somewhere about how to
do
this. Basically you set up both databases as ODBC, connect them with
SCONNECT and then SATTACH the table you want to copy with an alternate
name.
Then it behaves just like a table in your database. You can append the
data
directly to your original table with no errors. Good luck!

Subject: Moving Tables

I am running R:Base 6.5++ for Windows and am having a difficult time
trying
to combine tables from one database into another database. I went out
to
the archive list and can't find a way to do it. I have copied forms and
reports from one database to another, but can't do tables. I finally
resorted to exporting the table from one database into Excel and
importing
it back to another database in R:base. When I do this, for some reason,
it
changes the date format somehow and doesn't recognize the date. When
you
look in the table, the data is there, but when you try
browse * from History Where date BETWEEN 01/01/02 AND 10/30/02
it says there are no qualifying rows. Does anyone know how to do this,
and
what the problem might be with the dates?
