To all who are thinking of upgrading a 2.11 db. Save yourself a ton of trouble by first doing an UNLOAD STRUCTURE to a file. Then RSTYLE the file. Make sure RSTYLE is set up to upper case keywords and lower case others. If any error messages are issued by RSTYLE, you can use that info to modify illegal names. Once the illegal names are taken care of, repeat the process. Now read the result of RSTYLING the file. Any names which are upper cased need to be modified as well.
After all this is done, you should be able to convert without much trouble. --Dennis McGrath -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:owner-rbase-l@;sonetmail.com]On Behalf Of OCServices Sent: Monday, November 04, 2002 1:08 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Conversion from 2.11 to 6.5++ Albert, Razzak, Javier, Bernie and John at RBTI! I've reviewed your responses and have done a great deal of testing! Found the problem! The original 2.11 DB had two columns that where illegally named! Those were changed but they were also in every report! Not changing the reports at the 2.11 level with the new name was the cause! I corrected the reports with the new column name! Then update via both windows 6.5 and Dos 6.5. Both paths work just fine! Thank you all for your help! Special thanks goes to John, at RBTI, hit the problem on the head! Saved me lots of time!
