which is almost the function you requested. It should
work as long as Title is guaranteed to be free of the
Pipe character.
A better solution is to create a table of Titles with
a specification of the gender it applies to, and join
that table into your selection. It's better because
you can add new Titles to the table without ever
having to look at or modify your code.
