I will not argue with you! Your statement is 99.99999% correct.
But I will add:
Even when I find a workaround that makes my program work,
it does not mean that bug was not there in the first place.

Sehr guter Punkt!

In that case, you should know that RBTI has a proven
track record: any boo-boo which has been officially
submitted on R:DCC, with complete details to reliably
replicate, has been SQUASHED with pride and the user
is provided with an interim update/beta to test and
verify the cure of such boo-boo.

Simply ask those who have done so or have experience
dealing with talented and dedicated R:DCC members.

Now, if you are NOT able to reliably replicate that
boo-boo or did not bother to provide a sample along
with necessary files, despite many request(s), what
is RBTI and its dedicated R:DCC team supposed to do?

Hundreds of bug-fixes in 6.5++ Patch-1 and Patch-2,
and now Forty Six (46) additional bug-fixes in Patch-3
(Build:1.862xRT03) is the result of such interaction.

FYI, R:DCC has even cleaned up many submitted crappy
codes and poor logic, simply to help and get our
CURRENT users in the right direction. R:DCC even has
a few cases where users will simply submit the bug
and send necessary files, hoping that R:DCC staff
will do their work.

In many cases, R:DCC staff will even go out of their
way to provide our lovely users a programming lesson
along with samples to help them understand the logical
way of doing things.

Remember, there is no one who takes more PRIDE than
every member of the Dream Team!

Bottom Line:

If you are able to reliably replicate any boo-boo,
officially submit it, sit back, relax and consider
it done.

If you are not able to reliably replicate something
you always talk about, and are not willing to provide
any sample along with every associated file(s),
unfortunately, there is nothing RBTI or its Dream Team
can do. And, you should be dealing directly with R:DCC
privately, not on this list server to cause unnecessary
confusion.

And, RBTI and its dedicated Dream Team will continue
to do what they do BEST. Provide our LOYAL and CURRENT
users the tools and technology they deserve along with
a ROBUST RDBMS. They will NOT be discouraged nor slow
down.

May you ALL enjoy the long-awaited, long beta tested,
In-Line Patch-3, Build:1.862xRT03, of The Glorious
R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++)!

Very Best Regards,

Razzak.

Subject: My Philosophy of a Bug

Folks,

I have been watching different threads on this Official R:BASE List
regarding whether or not an issue encountered while using the
latest and greatest beta versions of The Glorious R:BASE 2000
(ver 6.5++) is a bug or not. In addition, I am also very attentive
and proud of the feedback from the VERY PROFESSIONAL
R:BASE Community and Developers subscribed to this list.

In response to the original thread, I can say only this, and repeat
after me:

"My inability to improve my programming logic and keep myself
up-to-date with the latest and enhanced versions DOES NOT
constitute a bug in ANY software."

You can add this quotation to the list of Razzak's famous sayings.

We are ONLY limited by our product knowledge and our experience!

Enjoy the latest and greatest 6.5++ (Build:1.861xRT03) and higher.

Very Best Regards,

Razzak.
