Thanks, however I tried the temp table thing already and that takes too long also. Its creating a temp table then inserting non-duplicate rows from a table that has 14,000 records in it and that was too painfull too
I think I am going to have to split the table up, it will be faster and smaller but it seems a shame cause the data is very flat.
I just wish there was a way to have the combo box supress duplicates for me.

Then, when you need to use that combobox use a command file or eep to delete

Then use this property command in an EEP before you hit the combobox:
PROPERTY ID_ComboBox REFRESHLIST 'TRUE'
You can create the view while in the form from a button and use data from
the form to define the view.
It's not perfect because you've got at least two steps but it seems to be
the quickest method I've found so far. If you want more details let me know

I tried to base this on a VIEW that selected DISTINCT rows only but the form takes 35 seconds to load .
