Ok, I can't help you, but this triggered some nostalgic R:Base moment. Didn't Microrim have an accounting package written in R:base at one time before they folded? I can see the logo in my mind, some kind of medallion or something. I wonder if they sold any of those packages.....????

G-Day

I was kinda hinted to by my boss that he would like to have
another
accounting package. Take in mind he's an accountant and yes money
is
the real issue. We are currently using Macola, and he's really
not
happy entirely with it, but it does save records for many years,
and
does the majority of what we need. I know he's stated that he only
uses
the OE / Invoiceing, the AP, AR, and GL sides of the Macola package we
have.
What other options are there on the market.
Keep in mind this
info.
1. We have approx 15 users at most. 4-6 at corp, 2-4 at another, and
??
at another site.
2. We have several company locations.. We
are Corp offices and have several
companies under us so it will
have to run at at least 3 sites. The main
Corp site is also the
same as the Main subsidiary company.
3. One of things we like about Macola is
we can do OE at one of our
subsidiary companies and then
transfer databases to our Corp to
to billing and such.
4. We
want to be able to get data in and out easily for other purposes
which is mostly reporting.
5. Cost of course is the main issue. We are
not a big company, yet we
are not a pure Mom & Pop store
either.
Thanks for any feedback
