G'day all, I must admit to bias as I am a MYOB Certified Consultant and make most of my income in MYOB associated work. I know that in the US MYOB is mainly used by Mac people and does not have the same profile among Windoze users as it has in Australia, New Zealand, SE Asia. While I do not know exactly what is available in USA you may find some of the comments below, which refer to the Australian edition, useful.
MYOB Premier Enterprise is a multi user version of MYOB that comes with a 5 user license, which can be increased, and is optimised to run under Terminal Services under Windows 2003 standard edition. I have found that MYOB Premier (not the Enterprise version) tends to run slowly with large numbers of users with a large datafile over a network and the program does not use indexes efficiently for data in future financial years. One of the nice developments of late is the introduction of a read only ODBC driver that allows extraction of data to other systems for reporting that is not easily done with the existing MYOB reports - I don't know if it is available in the US Windows version as yet but has been in the Australian edition for the last few years. There is also a developers package that allows you to develop applications for automatic import into MYOB. Data files can be copied between computer networks to allow the reporting you want and, provided the structure of datafiles are the same, data can be exported easily from one datafile for import into a different datafile. One big advantage of MYOB is that you get all the modules (GL, cashbook, purchases, sales, time billing, payroll and reporting) in the one package. I am using TimeSlips to record and manage my time and I am exporting transactions back and forwards between MYOB and TimeSlips. Great product. It permits multi-company, but the only problem would be transferring to parent company. However, this can be done via R-base.
