Hi, Alaistair. Mine starts full screen (1500x1050). If you need to look at INI and CFG 
files, let
me know, I'll ship them to you for you to try. One difference that is possible is that 
I am
running with all files in the directory and the -a switch. That way I can run betas 
and live
without interference. If you use the -a switch after you copy all the files from 
\Windows or
\Winnt and \Windows\System32 directory that are used (all the RBE*), try with the -a 
Swtich and
see if the problem goes away.
