I had this on my bike and thought the squeak was coming from the crank or pedal. Eventually I worked out that it was the saddle. I put a tiny bit of lube on the rivets from the underside of the saddle and the squeak went away. There's probably a better product than chain lube to use on a nice leather saddle, but it worked for me.
