To get your bikes around domestically, look into shipping via either Fed Ex or UPS ground. Contact your motel & ask them to take delivery of your bike & ship it so it gets there a day or 2 ahead of you. Then when you leave you just re-pack your bike, & ship it home. Usually runs around $45-50 each way, at least this year. Plus you can load it up with clothes, tools, etc & not be as concerned about weight as if you were dealing with the airlines. And you don't have the hassle of getting your bike from the airport to your motel.
