Of course, on the way home my pump rattled and rattled and at one time seemed 
to snap back into its place on the frame. At the first opportunity, I fished 
the strap out of my bag and put it back on. Vanity is not a good reason for 
leaving the strap off.

I don't know if this makes a difference, but my frame a 63cm seat tube with 
about a 62cm top tube. Even the frame fit pumps tend to be on the looser side 
on this frame. I think I'll err on the side of caution. After all, the frame 
will be much less pretty if the pump ejects and sends me over the bars.
