I don't know about the frame being at fault. I can almost see a flat tire rolling off of the rim, being trapped between the rim and the fork (causing the marks shown inside the fork in the original article), and locking the wheel up. That could cause a fall, and could explain the sheared off valve stem. I don't see how that should lead to breaking spokes, or how the rim would have ovalized in that scenario. It's more likely IMO that (as hypothesized in the original article) as a few spokes started to break, the hub dropped a bit, allowing the fork to drop onto the top of the wheel. The would have stopped the bike, caused the endo, and the resulting forces then finished breaking the spokes and tore the tire off of the bead and the valve stem from the tube.
I'll admit to owning a carbon framed bike, but carbon spokes? No thanks.
