Hi Avery, Welcome! I agree with everyone else that your amount of seat post, while more than a fistful, is not at all bad. As for getting a Homer to replace your Sam: Grant says that the two bikes are functionally equivalent, so if one goes for the Homer, one is choosing it mainly for its appearance and for its slightly thinner tubing. Nothing wrong with that, of course!
