I get into some pretty knarly firewood, and for the most part use a 26 ton hydraulic splitter, and even that will get bogged down at times. There are a lot of little tools like wedges and cant hooks that make wood handling easier and safer. I have to admit that I'd like to give that tool a try just to see how it works. I think Finland, like the west coast of the US is mostly softwoods.
