I lived in a house heated with wood logs for 10 years and um not to be a
jerk but the lumber company will deliver it all nice and split for a
nominal fee. For them to run the logs through their huge machines is
nothing to them. plus its pre-dried so you don't have to have a massive
pile of wood sitting outside your house drying for months. We did split
logs on occasion, when the usual guys couldn't deliver in time and its
really not that horrible, you do feel like a lumberjack when you do it so
that is a bonus.
