Hey Chris. If your focus will be trails, I highly recommend the MSO's. I have the Hunqapillar set up as my go-to trail and bikepacking bike. When I want to do go-fast trail rides for a while, That's what I'll do is pop on the MSO's. My focus for the QB is dirt roads with some trail.
Depending on your gear range, the MSO's get snug toward the front. The Barlows have more room to spare. But they do not have flat protection like the MSO's do, nor the nobbies for more traction.
