The answers are really easy. You gotta start somewhere. Reynolds 531 is the benchmark, with other Cr-Mo butted tubing makers following suite - especially the Japanese. Campagnolo Gran Sport is no better than Zeus Gran Sport, but the latter copied the former so Zeus was always Avis in its day.
