I'm not going to get into a debate about sugar etc, but for a 30 mile ride, that sounds like a lot of food to eat. i know everyone is different but i prefer solid foods when i feel like i need to bring food--so i bring a ham sandwich or a banana etc. i'm also a low sugar person and avoid added sugar when possible, but it's hard, there is sugar in a lot of pre-packaged foods, so if you're not making your own snacks you're taking in more sugar then you realize.
