Someone, I don't know if it is Honjo or not; perhaps Jan Heine of Bicycle
Quarterly, recommends thick leather washers between metal fender and frame.
I cut my own, but VO does sell them. The recommender claims that they will
reduce vibration and thus fatigue, and they also (I suppose, since I've had
no problem with rattling) keep the fenders quiet.
