That's the way of it here. Had the snow been deeper, you'd find conditions would continue to worsen over the next few days, as you get sections cleared by sunshine, others in the shade or on overpasses (notably the bridges at National Airport and under the bridges to DC) that will remain icy for a week or two, and large permanent icy ruts develop. After a typical "good sized" snow fall the MT V trail will be impassible for 1 - 2 weeks.
