I have a Wilbury – no problem there, the rear brake is mounted on the midstay bridge, so the cable run is straight to the brake straddle cable. (For centerpulls; for sidepulls I think you can just install the cable upside down, no straddle required.) On the Clemmie-girl, the canti posts are up near the seat stay bridge, but the cable runs along the upper downtube, which meets the seat tube very low, well below the seat stay bridge – hence the need to figure out the cable run without a kink-inducing sharp turn downward. Something like that.
