Jim:

There is a process called electrical discharge machining which could be 
used to save the BB.  It's meant for things like bolts broken off in engine 
blocks & similar expensive things.  Were it my problem, I'd just buy a new 
BB.  Quicker, simpler, & less problem sourcing.  EDM is great if you break 
off a stud in your vintage sports car engine.
