Fun to see a link to my custom; thanks Garth! Yep, my custom differs from the Mystery Bike in that the mid stays are doubled and go right into the asymmetric tentacular stays. And yep it's a Nobilette.
I thought of it as a Custom Appaloosa because of the badge on the Mystery (which is what the custom was besed on) but perhaps it's not. So I too am confused that the proto Appaloosa doesn't have the 50+ chainstays.
