Not sure if it falls under "knobby/cross" but the lowly Panaracer Col de la Vie does have more of a micro knob tread, not too unlike some of the file tread tires that have come out. About 35mm actual or slightly wider depending on rim. I used them when I first did a 650b conversions, did some long mixed terrain rides on them, and felt they did pretty good on gravel sections with pressures lowered a bit. David Chicago
