No mention yet of the SOMA porteur here, but I've been using it for 4+ 
years on my commuter, and I can't recommend it highly enough. I've carried 
everything from 30 pounds of books to an old Weber grill that I found on 
the side of the road, disassembled, and strapped on. Putting a basket on a 
porteur kinda defeats the purpose, though. The table itself is highly 
versatile. Velo Orange sells a duffle bag that integrates well with a 
porteur rack.
