I don't think my Sam would generally beat a carbon frame rb in a flat out race, but it's going to last for a really long time, and I love riding it. Lots of people have never seen anything like it, and I enjoy explaining the reasons why it's the right bike for me. If dude likes his bike and seems to be having a good ol' time on the ride, good for him. To each his own. I hope his bike makes him as happy as mine does me.
The real issue seems to be his smug attitude, and unfortunately, offering unsolicited advice in return won't solve much of anything. I love the idea of offering to swap for a while. I'm definitely giving this a shot if ever in the situation!
