Bill nailed it, the mini velo design lets the bike fit in a smaller space in my apartment, plus my short self finds them easier to lug up and down stairs without banging the wheels on the steps.
Also, I've been riding folders for so long that small wheels don't look "odd" to me..it just looks like a bike. I'm a big fan of Japanese minis, and bought this with that in mind. Yes, it would be getting a long Technomic if I use Albas. Btw, I've asked Grant to make a Riv Mini Velo, which of course I know is financially impossible for them.
