Drew, there's nothing strange about visiting RBW as a non-bike-buyer. Anyone with 3 Rivs already has major dollars invested in the company, and undoubtedly still buys stuff from them. My policy for any bike shop visit is to buy something, which I'm sure most of us do when we drop by World Headquarters. I know Grant & Co appreciate it.
