I cannot think of a single other word either that better encompasses the entire area around the handlebars. If there is a better word for a "relatively small area containing mostly mechanical controls with optional instruments," what might it be?
How about "handlebars?" All the controls being mentioned, with the sometime exception of shifters, are found on the handlebars. Imaginary exchange using this nomenclature: "What's your handlebar setup?" "I have Noodles with bar-ends, a bell, and non-aero levers. And you?" "I have porteur bars with DI2 STI and a Garmin. But it's a self-riding Google bike, so I just hang on." Anywho, different strokes for different folks. I was just confessing solidarity with the OP after a chorus of dissenting opinion fell upon him. Now please excuse me while I saddle up and take my trusty iron steed to the grocery store--she's a fine machine, made for haulin'! (P.S. Do cockpits have colorways?;^) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
