Different brakes would be needed, but I concur, even in bikes with
braze-ons for cantilever brakes, the touch points are not equidistant. It
would also help tremendously to have the braze-on to be able to screw in
the daruma for the front fender directly, instead of having to hang it from
the brake/rack attachment.
