Shimano 10 speed mountain/dynasys needs more cable pull than traditional friction shifters, so you can't use just any shifter.
Microshift is the only compatible bar end shifter that i know of. There are other options for friction shifting for downtube or thumb shifting that will work with dynasys. There is also a modification that I have used to make a 9 speed shifter work.
